Happy hump day! With the warmer weather here we are taking a little break from the inside of our 1850 home to focus some much needed TLC to the exterior paint. My husband Steve and I are scraping, sanding, and painting the house ourselves, which is time-consuming but will hopefully be worth it in the end!
Steve has some experience with painting and won’t let me use anything other than Benjamin Moore, specifically the Aura line for exterior paint work. We’ve compiled some of our favorite options for our new home and maybe your home too!
More of an off-white, Benjamin Moore Distant Gray offers the crisp, clean look of a white with a little more interest from a hint of gray. I think this “modern farmhouse” look is adorable! I especially love the board and batten siding and the bright front door.
Hale Navy is a deep, rich blue with smoky gray undertones, which makes this our front runner! We think with crisp white trim and detail work and accents of light gray and medium-tone wood, we could really give our house the facelift it needs.
We like this almost sage green, from Benjamin Moore called Weekend Getaway. Even the name sounds pretty. I can picture it on a sweet little English cottage with wildflowers and a picket fence. *Sigh*. I wanted to show this color two different ways.
Revere Pewter is one of my favorite BM colors and works well for both the interior and exterior. It is a great neutral color that toes the line between being tan and gray…a.k.a. greige! It pairs well with dark wood accents, black accents, and certainly white. Definitely an option for us to consider!
What color do you think we should choose? Any colors you would like for your own home? We’ll share our final color choice in a few weeks!
